Snow Glad: Slimine Card

I am ready for a good snow fall, here in Ohio! How about you? 

The If snowflakes were kisses, stamp set is really versatile,  you saw the images on the layout from a couple of days ago, and a sentiment on the trees card. 

So I wanted build a stack of animals, and a slimline works perfect for that. 

The inside is blank, with lots if room to add a personal message. 

Here are some close up details of the card front.. 

Liquid pearls add some razzle dazzle. (Even the on smashed.. opps)

Use and old clear shimmer brush to spread your stickles out, like I did on the hats. 

Small drops of liquid pearls on the balls of the hats, for a little more winter fun! 

All popped up on 3D foam tape, and you have a pretty cute winter fun, card!

If snowflakes were kisses...

A little fun with pigment ink and colored pencils,  brings this card to life. 

Paired with the Wonderland paper, and a white gel pen, the card front gives off a nice winter feel. 

Stamp your images in white daisy pigment ink. Allow a good amount of dry time, 30 to 60 minutes. You can speed up the process with a heat tool.

Once dry add color with colored pencils. 

Finish the card off with a cute sentiment on the inside.

This little light if mine...

Do you have that song stung in your mind now that you've read the title? 

This month Close to My Heart launched one of the cutest stamps of the month... created to shine. I wanted to share some Artwork outside if my SOTM kit (Click here to read about that) 

I started with black cardstock rubbing my antistatic pouch over it. Stamping the light bulbs and sentiment in versamark ink. Next I heat embossed those images with white embossing powder.  Using an emery board, I removed the thinnest layer of black cardstock so the white would show. Applying mustard seed distress oxide inks in a circular motion, over the light bulbs and sentiment, I gave the items a nice glow. Using a paper towel I gently rubbed the distress oxide ink of the white embossed areas... a dash of diamond stickles on each bulb finished off the card front.

Have you started your holiday cards yet? I am slowly but surely,  getting things moving here. I wanted to share a couple of cute cards. I created with my Facebook VIP friends. 

This card features a waterfall element. When you pull down the tab, the background flows together. See what I mean below. 

Next we created a shaker card with a couple of thin cuts from the buildable tags collection. 

No ribbon, no problem a quick little thread if zip strip paper gives off the perfect illusion of a pretty ribbon.

Sweater Weather...

I don't know about you, but it is certainly turning into sweater weather here. When I found a picture from 2013, I knew I wanted to capture the warmth of my family, with the new Pumpkin Spice Scrapbooking stamp set! 

Super cut images, adorable title and great accents for backgroubd stamping and more! The images in this set could easily be used for winter time too!

I grabbed my Pumpkin Spice paper and got to work. 

I stamp a variety of sweaters on pattern paper, card stock and even white daisy. 

In my Facebook group DanYellScraps and Friends, I gave some tips for creating easy to color sweaters in a snap.

Give them in style...

I love gifting cards to friends and family, especially when they need a quick pick me up, or have done something kind. So I am sharing with you today a picture of how I package my cards up for them.

I always get compliments on how nice the card folio looks and holds the cards. 

For this particular set, I only have 4 cards and envelopes inside, however I could probably put 2 more in, one on each side, to make a total of six. 

I'd love to hear what you do when gifting a set of cards?

Add a little spice... pumpkin

Okay, so I am not making a latte or anything, but I am whipping up 16 cards from the new Pumpkin Spice Cardmaking Workshop from Close to My Heart.

Have you ever noticed that little etched line on your ctmh blocks? I love that line, because not only can I line up my stamp evenly on my block, but I can also use it to line up my placement on my project... just check out those dots... pretty on point... pun intended! 🤣

The kit comes with instructions to create 16 cards from the supplies included. One of those supplies is a roll of Rose gold shimmer trim. OMGee that stuff is sooo pretty... check out how this banner just popped when RG shimmer was added. 

Fonts can make or break a Stamp Set. Honesty it can, so I was pleasantly surprised when the two style of fonts in this set, were paired together in an eye pleasing fashion. Check out the bold against the thin font, such a great contrast, that you don't notice my off center shimmer trim... well maybe you did?! 😏

This dotted background was actually soooo easy to make. Three inks, 2 rows of dots in each ink! Boom you have this gradient feel. However, what happens if you only have 1 dark color... dig deep into the old is new again technique, 2nd and 3rd generation stamping will work really well here. You can see it in my process video.... look quick it goes fast.🧐
