Jingle Joy Kit of the Month + Online Crop

Saturday, December 12th 2020 9:00 am - 9:00 pm

It's not to late to get ready for the Holiday season!
When it comes to bright & cheerful, this kit will cover your options! I’ve created 8 pages + 10 cards using the jingle joy paper collection + sticker sheet, coordinating cardstock, PML cards and Die cuts. I added a few stamp sets and thin cuts (November Stamp of the Month and Gnome For Christmas +thin cuts). The new Gnome for Christmas set is stunning in size and cuteness; I am surprised at how much I love it. The Thin Cuts sizes are perfect for cards and pages.

New colors are showcased in this palette: Flamingo, and Clover! I even show blending with distress oxide inks — Plus, gold thread, gems, liquid pearls diamond stickles… all kinds of fun and festive items to create 8 stunning holiday pages +10 cards. This is the perfect opportunity to join in and learn some new skills! We will cut, measure, prep, stamp, thin cut, and have a lot of fun making up layouts, cards, and home decor! I can’t wait to share it all with you online via ZOOM on December 5th!

A week prior to our Online Crop is when the magic begins! I create a private group on Facebook just for paid registrants to join in. What's so cool is that I'll upload at least one new video to help you prepare ahead of time before our crop begins. Time allowing, I'll post a few helpful tips in advance of our actual crop on Saturday, too!

You want me to Random Stamp 😳

Let's take a minute to talk about random stamping!
Do you freeze up when you're kit says to "random stamp" the background? You just know your images are going to be crooked, or off center or perhaps to random! Well, I am here to give you permission to let all of that go, and follow one simple guide ('rule' is so harsh in the crafting world)

Here is a super easy-to-use idea for random stamping. Use the triangle method!
Start in a corner of your project and create three points to a triangle. For example look at my card above in the upperleft hand corner, you can see three trees that forma visual triangle. Keep up that pace to fill out your project, using each tree as a triangle point.
I messed up my spacing, but did I really? My sentiment fills the void I accidentally created when I was creating my visual triangle.
See that die cut tree popped up? I watercolored the tree under it all toffee, because I was distracted. No one is going to know your mistakes, unless you tell them.
My card opens up as a diagonal fold.

I hope I have encouraged you to be created and let loose of those pesky rules, that sometimes keeps our Creativity boxed up.

Let me know in the comments below your favorite trend and true random stamping trick!

Card Creations: Creating an image with another image

Hello Friends,

Welcome to another week of Heart 2 Heart Creation challenges! This week we are focusing on Card Creations. This is whatever you interpret this to mean!  Perhaps it is a fancy fold, style or manipulation of a tool?

Each Monday, a new challenge is posted, and Close To My Heart products are required to enter.

Before you jump right into this weeks challenge, I have a some inspiration for you. I C.A.S.E. this card from another consultant, who I believed did a fabulous job showing the versatility of small stamps.

Each one of these stamps are individual, but when stamped closely together in a shape you create the illusion of an a much larger stamp. To color these adorable images I smooshed  water-based dye ink onto my all purpose mat and picked up the color with my clear shimmer brush. I was able to get some shading effects with this technique and some shimmer as a bonus.

Distress Oxide splattered Background

Hello Friends!

Distress Oxide inks are not new to the crafting world, but they are new to the line up of arsenal that Close to My Heart (CTMH) offers. Today I want to show you what simple blending and splattering effects have on a completed card.

Gnome for Christmas is the name of the stamp set featured on these cards! Is this not the cutest set ever!

Let's take a closer look at these cute cards and talk more about how that background came to be.

Creating background with Distress Oxide inks is extremely easy to do. Because of their unique make up the ink sits on top of the paper. This delays the drying time of the ink, and allows the crafter time needed to blend out the ink. Unlike water-based inks that absorb into the paper quickly, they can leave little to no wiggle room for blending. Not saying it isn't possible, but it does take more effort.

Once your distress oxide inks are blended on your paper, you can make really cool splatter effects by adding drops or mists of water while the ink is still wet. you can dab away the water with a paper towel or leave it to dry on its own. Because these inks are water-reactive you will see 'white' areas left after the water is dried or dabbed away.

If you are CTMH Customer, I invite you to join my DanYell-Scraps and Friends Facebook group (closed to CTMH Makers unless you are on my team) to watch these cards come to life. Video link is below! If you do not have a CTMH maker, I'd love for you to be a CTMH VIP customer with me! Scroll down to learn more!
