The Calypso Paper is so breezy and summer filled. I couldn't wait to cut it up and get it into a workshop ASAP.
I incorporated flip flaps throughout the workshop, to give that extra real estate for your pictures. Get ready to add 24 pictures to this summer time fun set.

Today - I am going to talk about pockets, on your pages. Pockets are a great addition to your work, it gives you bonus real estate for journaling and or photos...(who doesn't want to get in a few more shots of the birthday party?) You can make them obvious, or hidden. I really like the element of surprise....so I like to hide my pockets. Okay...here is my hidden pocket...did you see?
Arrow points out my pocket...
Pockets are SUPER easy, if you have done them before, you so know what I am talking about. If not, WHOA, get ready to be on a pocket frenzy. :) For this pocket, my pattern called for a 5 x 5.5 piece of cardstock. Using white daisy, I cut two of these. Before making my pocket, I distressed my top with Black ink, and added my doodling. MUCH easier to do this first. Using my base piece, I measured out three pieces of 3D Foam tape. Two 5" one for each side, and one 5.5 for the bottom. You will want to adhere these on the edge - or you won't get your pocket - Before I add my top piece, I use my ruler, to measure my inside to make sure my 4 x 5 slider will fit. I added my top piece and bam...POCKET. To create my slider, I cut on 4 x 5 piece of cardstock from 'Pear'. I doodled, distressed the edges, Added my compliments, shimmer trim dove tails, and added my tab so I would be able to pull it out. It is ready to for me to add my photo and or Journaling...remember there are two sides, so don't forget to utilize that real estate too. ** TIP ** This is a great place to add flip flaps - to accommodate the bulk, just double up on your 3D Foam Tape.
